Gary Swedenburg CDT, a native of South Jackson , MS , joined the staff of the Division of Oral Oncology as Chief Dental Lab Technician. Dental Lab Technology is in Gary ’s DNA. His father, Charles Swedenburg, founded Swedenburg Dental Lab in Jackson in 1974. Gary originally started helping his Dad at the age of 13 whenever he had some spare moments. He learned all phases of laboratory technology on the job under the tutelage of his father and was joined in the family business by a total of 5 additional brothers and sisters. Over time, he gravitated to removable prosthodontics with a special interest in precision attachment and metal casting. With over 3 decades as a lab tech, Gary became interested in expanding the scope of his expertise and Oral Oncology was a perfect avenue for Gary as he had already begun to branch into maxillofacial technology and facial prosthetic applications.
